Cuzco Hotel

Location: Cuzco, Peru
Status: Concept
Size: 150 Hotel Guest Rooms
4,000 sq. ft. Conference Center

About the project: In the heart of historic Cuzco, the design for this hotel takes its cues from the very strong contextual colonial architecture of Peru. Described as an evolutionary response, as opposed to revolutionary, the hotel fits in without using the exact vernacular but rather modern interpretations of the time tested architectural style of Peru.  Using off centered courtyards throughout the plan, produces a series of spaces and experiences that carry the user from the street into the center of the site where the ballroom and restaurant sit adjacent to a vertically proportioned courtyard. The guest rooms above were designed to take advantage of the long views of the mountain ranges.
