This one story house was designed to fit a pie shaped parcel opening up to an existing lushly landscaped backdrop. The social spaces are separated from the private rooms by an atrium with clerestory glass that orchestrates different moods by daylight throughout the house. The dining and living room expand to the pool deck through the covered terrace where additional exterior leisure spaces exist. The architecture is inspired by the mid-century modern homes in California, where materials and elements are linear and are interrupted by floor-to-ceiling openings and clerestories allow unusual light into the rooms.
